BIOGRAPHY:

Sarah Knight lives and works in London and France.

Her practice encompasses a range of media: oil painting, printmaking, drawing and installation.

Her work explores the overlooked and discarded around us every day, with the aim of looking anew at familiar spaces and in doing so expose the fragility (and mayhap the futility) of human endeavour when faced with the power of time and nature.

Her influences are drawn from a wide range of sources: places she has visited; imaginary worlds in works of fiction; films; past artists (such as Dore, Piranesi, Ruskin and Turner) and even archaeological and architectural writings.
